Katy perry reveals she's wearing a wig – the options for clients

After Katy Perry revealed she was wearing a wig for her performance on Jimmy Kimmel live we quizzed the experts on what realistic wig options are out there for clients. From frontals to full-lace, when clients return to the salon they might be persuaded to opt for wigs after months away from the hairdresser and box dye mishaps.

The backstory

Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the singer revealed long black hair, writing on Instagram: "Mama has the night off so you get inches and @americanidol on @jimmykimmellive tonight ok." https://www.instagram.com/p/CLDm9NbBssj/ But she later told her fans that her hair transformation was a wig – and a really realistic one at that.

In her Instagram Stories, Katy removed the hairpiece to show her short, blonde hair underneath.

To be able to heat style your wig gives you the versatility to change it up from straight to curly in minutes. To invest in a good synthetic wig, clients must be prepared to spend at least £500. Synthetic wigs can be washed, hung up to dry in be ready to wear again in a few hours. Long hair wigs needs to be trimmed every three weeks to keep the ends tidy.
