Kate moss covers allure august 2013

We're used to seeing Kate Moss on the cover of just about everything here in the UK, but we don't tend to see her covering so many US mags which is why it's such a pleasure to see her fronting the August 2013 edition of beauty bible, Allure. The Croydon covergirl talks all things hair and makeup in the spread, which was shot by Mario Testino with the one and only Sam McKnight styling her locks. In stark contrast to her grunge-girl image, Kate revealed that her number one hair rule is: "Always clean hair. That's a must. If in doubt, wash it." She also adds that when she's not in the hands of the world's best hairdressers she swears by, "that Moroccanoil stuff, and then I blow-dry it upside down and brush it. Maybe I'll give it a back-comb at the top." The interview also speaks to Sam about his work with Kate over the years and he reveals:  "Even at her most glamorous, Kate has a natural ease." Explaining how he got her cover look on this occasion, Sam recommends raking a palmful of volumising mousse through the hair then blow-drying with a round brush. Once totally dry, hair was pinned up in 12 sections and left to cool before being smoothed through with a Mason Pearson brush and finished with texture spray.
