Johnny depp goes blonde: the verdict

Johnny Depp stepped out in London this week with a dramatic new look; blonde hair in place of his usual brunette locks. I think we can safely assume this transformation is for a film role - at least, we can but hope it's for a film role - but it's also safe to say that it doesn't do it for me in the same way as his usual dark and brooding looks. Here, Michael Francos from D&J Ambrose gives his verdict on Mr Depp's new blonde barnet:

For a man who you would usually associate with effortless cool, this is an altogether different look. Johnny usually looks good whatever style he tries; however this bleach blonde is perhaps a step too far for the actor. For men that naturally have very dark hair, bleached blonde is a difficult look to pull off; in fact it's borderline impossible! Subtle colour is key on dark hair; always take into consideration skin tone and eye colour. Overall the whole image really needs to be balanced out – self-bleached hair and a suave three-piece dinner suit don’t really work for a red carpet event."
