Jared leto's hair makes headlines at 2014 golden globes Jared Leto wears a ponytail bun for the 2014 Golden Globes Jared Leto is probably used to his hair making headlines - and quite possibly getting more attention than his acting career. But even so, he probably didn't expect his loose bun at the 2014 Golden Globes to get quite so much attention - particularly when he was actually awarded for his acting ability on the night. Nevertheless, it was Jared Leto's hair trending on Twitter - not his win for Best Supporting Actor in Dallas Buyers Club. The hybrid ponytail-bun - or ponybun, if you will - is a favourite of long-haired girls everywhere; in my own memory, it was a post-PE favourite in sixth form. Jared's hair is pulled back in a ponytail then caught in the elastic on the last wrap to create a bun with a tail. With his wavy hair doing most of the hard work, this actually creates a rather lovely silhouette on the back of Jared's head - the kind of shape that a session stylist might slog over for hours backstage. Hollywood Reporter caught up with Chase Kusero, the stylist responsible for Jared's hair. He told them:
I wanted to do something that was elegant that also said rock and roll, and 'I-did-it-myself' kind of look. We definitely didn't want him to end up looking too much like a woman. It was tricky to think of him wearing his hair down with a tuxedo.
He also revealed to the Reporter that to get the look, he boiled salt water and bottled it at the weekend, before spraying it on Jared's hair a day later. After trying the knot, he finished it with Oribe Shine Spray.
