Jamie stevens shares the x factor backstage gossip

As resident hairdresser on The X Factor, Jamie Stevens is enjoying his moment in the spotlight styling the locks of the contestants on reality TV's biggest show.
In part two of an exclusive interview with HJi, Jamie reveals all about the new challenges he's facing on the show and how he juggles running a busy column with styling the stars.
Has working on The X Factor presented you with any new challenges that you haven't faced before? If so, what? How have you handled them?
I have been doing TV work for the last three or four years so I am used to being faced with tight deadlines and dealing with different personalities, but I have never done anything on this scale before.
Obviously working on a show that can change people so much you have to learn to deal with this and help them to grow.
You also have your own popular salon in Somerset and a column at Errol Douglas in London. How are you managing to juggle everything?
At the moment I don't just work on The X Factor on Saturdays and Sundays - we have two creative meetings every week and I have to watch the dance routines and rehearsals to make sure I am up to speed with what we will be doing for the live shows too.
Because the show is such big deal and is a 24/7 job, I have pulled myself out of the salon temporarily so I can concentrate fully on this and give it 110% percent.
I will, however, be doing the odd random day here and there when I know I am completely free.
Who was your favourite look this week?
My favourite hairstyle of this week was Misha B's. It was her natural hair combed up to the crown and put into two high, forward ponytails. The hair was then plaited and pinned to the top of the pony to give a foundation to a piece I pinned in. It was an afro synthetic wig from Sleek which I folded in half, sewed together and secured using kirby grips.
I sprayed it with Matrix Zoom Force and put some heat to give a firm crispiness then took clippers and shaved my over exaggerated Mr T style mohican!
I finished with a spritz of Matrix Biolage Shine Spray.
