Little Mix were crowned winners of the 2011 series of The X Factor this weekend and in an exclusive step-by-step the show's hairdresser, Jamie Stevens, reveals how he got their final winning look.

Jamie says: "For the final show we went for simpler hair. We gave all four girls curly syles to start so there could be a natural progression from curly, to a softer curl, and then a wave as it dropped."

"The key thing for the Little Mix look is building a secure foundation for each style. My key products are Matrix Design Pulse Go Big Extra Strong Hold Mousse which adds amazing volume when you blow-dry."

"I mixed this with Design Pulse Loosely Defined Texture Crème to make sure the hair will hold the curls over the whole day then blow-dried with a medium round brush. I then used a medium sized tong to create the curls."

"We then pinned the hair to let it cool and sprayed with Hair Lock Extra Strong Hold Hairspray to set the curl. Once totally cool, I took the curls out and brushed through with my fingers."

"My key hero product throughout the shows has been Matrix Mega Dust Volume Texturiser, a volumising powder which I applied to all the girls' hair to give them lots of body and I finished everything off with a little bit of Design Pulse Mix In Shine Serum to make the styles look super glossy."
