Ian marshall celebrates salon decade with a donation Ian Marshall Celebrates Salon Decade with a DonationIan Marshall of Spargo Hairdressing in Brentwood celebrated his tenth successful year in the hairdressing industry with a £5,000 donation to charity. The salon owner - whose previous fundraising involved the 'World's Worst Haircut' for manager Red - hosted a charity ball - hosted a charity ball to mark a decade of hairdressing and raise vital funds at the same time. More than 100 guests attended the bash at Stock Brook Manor Golf Club, where entertainment included live music, three-course dinner and a charity auction with prizes ranging from a signed Messi football boot to autographed One Direction snaps. By the end of the night, more than £5,400 had been raised for Great Ormond Street and Essex County NHS Hospital's radiotherapy and chemo ward. Explaining why the Spargo team chose such worthy causes, organisers Julie Day and Rhian Holmwood commented:
We are dedicated to raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital, as owner Ian Marshall lost a sister and has recently had another family member treated in there. When you are ill and have seen the level of care and dedication from the staff first hand, it seems natural to do something to make sure others get the same level of support. Many people owe their lives to these hospitals and we are so thrilled to be able to help them continue to keep up to date and functioning well.
