Hji hearts... edie campbell's centre-parted fringe Edie-Campbell-hair-fringe.jpgSocialite turned supermodel Edie Campbell is the perfect blend of high society chic (she's a West London girl who races thoroughbreds part time) and downtown, sixties-inspired cool.

As in demand as a model as she is at swanky London soirées, Edie has walked for everyone from Marc Jacobs and Stella McCartney to Chanel and Saint Laurent.

And while she's since switched her preppy look for an edgy black shag, it's this softly parted, schoolgirl style that we love the most.

We asked Chris Dickson of Dickson Reid, Edinburgh for his verdict on this pure and simple style.

"Think back to school when hair wasn't perfect, fringes were grown out and wispy bits stuck out here there and everywhere - it was all about au natural before girls discovered the straighteners. It seems that Edie, with her deep-set fringe parted down the middle, hair pretty much left to its own natural devices and vintage-chic dress, is channelling this 1960s retro feel. A little untidy and natural, but definitely confident. And that's the beauty of it - an effortless fringe, imperfect, and full of youthful appeal.

"Edie rocks the 'I just overslept', carefree vibe and totally gets behind the seasonal trend of casual cool. It's not about aiming for a high-polish finish, but intentionally creating a look that will have people thinking you've rushed out the house and created the style in the shortest time possible.

"It's great for clients who don't like sleek and highly finished styling, but who can now embrace their natural hair texture and enjoy updo's without too much fuss.

"The key to this look is to just go for it! Edie looks great because she's gathered her hair up and then simply wears it with tons of confidence."
