London is the city synonymous with this effortless style, with too-cool queens like Kate Moss and Alexa Chung postergirls for the no-brush-needed trend.
But there's a new girl on the scene, rivalling Alexa et al for beautiful bedhead texture; TV presenter and fashion writer Angela Scanlon.
Proving why she's the new one to watch, Angela's strawberry blonde tousled lengths are a new style crush for the summer - part 70s effortless texture, part 90s grunge.
We asked Lisa Butler from Gooseberry Salon in Nottingham for her verdict:
""I love Angela's glamour grunge look, which is bang on-trend for the new season.
"Long hair still rules - either scrunch dry the hair or blow-dry it with a natural wave to bring out the beauty of this relaxed style.
"It's also an easy look to suit all clients and is low maintenance - it works so well for our everyday busy lives while still looking trendy and stylish.
"I think it looks best with a slightly faded colour in the background, which adds a more worn-in look to the hair and can be a real contrast with some smart clothes for a classy work look. Think fitted print trousers with a fitted top or with a big faux fur coat - amazing!
"There are not many styles that are so easily worn with such a range of looks and with a squeeze in people's pockets it is easy and inexpensive to maintain. Simple but oh-so effective."
