Global creative director for Aveda, Antoinette Beenders has launched her latest collection, Shattered Illusions, featuring reflective, metallic, liquid-like looks with movement that bring to life a world that is part vintage and part futuristic. “Shattered Illusions is important to me because it represents how I love to work, which is very editorially.
It was inspired by the 1920s when the motion pictures were in their infancy and there was an excitement about the future of technology in the air. While the hair shapes are reminiscent of the 1920s, the forms are edgy and the textures have a high-gloss, wet shine.
"The final images were created to appear as if they were moving in a state between photo and film, with the models under water."
