High ponytails are a huge hair trend for Autumn/Winter 2011, with shows from Louis Vuitton to Christopher Kane featuring slicked down, scraped back styles.
On-trend as ever, this weekend's X Factor featured two vertiginous updos with both Misha and Kitty sporting super high styles created by Jamie Stevens and his team.
Boasting a hint of Tina Turner in Mad Max, Misha's style was crimped and brushed out to create a super-wide, textured finish reminiscent of Yasmin le Bon's frizzy ponytail at Issa last season.
Opting for something stricter and higher, Kitty's look was pure Blonde Ambition-era Madonna, complete with leather-bound pony holder.
Meanwhile over on Strictly Come Dancing, Tess Daly matched her sexy sheer Stella McCartney dress with a slicked-back high ponytail.
This fashion-forward look makes a nice change for Tess, who usually opts for more classic styles.
