Good news – we’ve sorted your day at Salon International! We’ve worked out a schedule that packs in a taster of everything there is to see and do at the exhibition. From live stages, to business seminars and shopping, here’s what your day at Salon International could look like…
10am – Doors Open
You’ll have already got your tickets, because you’re organised (well done) so you can breeze in without any queuing or faffing. (If you haven’t booked tickets yet, click here)
10:10am – Pick Up an Issue of HJ
There’s so much do at Salon International that a map and a show guide is essential for finding out what’s on where – you can find all this info in the show issue of Hairdressers Journal International, which will be available for free throughout the exhibition. Plus, if you’re a Salon International VIP, don’t forget to stop to pick up your goody bag!
10:15 – BHA Finalists Gallery
Head straight to HJ’s British Hairdressing Awards sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional Finalists Gallery to see the 2024 images. Everyone we speak to always says that this is their first port of call. It’s the ONLY place you can see the British Hairdressing Awards collections IRL. Soak up the talent and pick your favourites.
11:00 – HJ Academy Stage
The HJ Academy Pods will feature the hottest new talents and trailblazers who will showcase their expertise at floor level, allowing you to see up close the latest cutting and styling techniques. Check out who will be appearing over the weekend here.
12:00 – Shop Until You Drop
After getting some inspo from the stage you’ll be fired up to test and buy the products you can re-create them with. There are over 150 exhibitors stands so be sure to consult your show guide to make sure you’re hitting the ones that are important to you. Having said that, don’t get too fixated on following a strict path. It’s a big place and very busy! A lot of stands also have live stages on them too so you might get pleasantly distracted. A lot of brands launch their latest innovations at the show, chances are you’ll be able to buy lots of exclusives that the rest of the world hasn’t got their hands on yet. Take a peek at some of the brands you can expect to see here.
12.30 – See the SNAP! Winners Announced
While you’re shopping, why not circle back to the HJ Academy Stage to see this year’s SNAP! Awards winners announced?
13:30 – Seminar Time
No matter what day you’re heading to Salon International, there’s plenty of business talks on offer at Business Live, sponsored by the National Hair and Beauty Federation (NHBF). These sessions aim to help upskill you and your business, with topics such as ‘Social Media Management: Amplify Your Salon’s Online Presence’, ‘What Does the New Government Mean for your Business’ and ‘Profitability Secrets’.
14:15 – HJ Stage
Swing by the HJ stage to catch a live demonstration from some of the best hairdressing acts from around the world. Over the three days expect to see big names such as Tracey Ann Smith, Hooker & Young, Adam Reed, Ashely Gamble, TONI&GUY, Ky Wilson, plus many more. You can check out the full stage schedule here.
15:00 – Competitions
If you’re at the show on Monday, why not check out Concept Hair’s Best of the Best Student Competition on the HJ Stage? Meanwhile, at 17:15 on Sunday the presentation for HJ’s Extensions Competition, sponsored by Great Lengths, will be taking place.
15:30 – Modern Barber Stage
The finest barbering talent will be hitting up the MB Stage. Every day you'll be able to catch big barbering names such Hayden Cassidy, Tariq Howes, Josh Lamonaca and more. Check out the full line-up here.
16:00 – Last Minute Scissor Sharpening
Don’t forget to have your scissors sharpened by the most skilful craftsmen on the scissor stands! And pick up the final bits of shopping that you were considering earlier in the day (you know you want to).
The show closes at 17:00 on Saturday and Monday, and 6pm on Sunday. Make your way to a hotel bar to network, network, network. Don’t forget to grab dinner though, we rate the Lebanese by the Novotel.
