Esteemed family-run salon group, HARI’s, is proud to announce a major milestone this year, celebrating 50 years in business
Founded by Hari Salem in 1976 on Sydney Street, London, the brand has since flourished into a multi-award-winning, five-strong salon group, becoming a recognised and respected name in the hairdressing industry, synonymous with expertise, artistry and timeless style.
Driven by craftsmanship and client care, HARI’s has witnessed the evolution of hair fashion over the last five decades while helping to shape it. Dressing the hair of iconic names, including Bianca Jagger, The Rolling Stones, Twiggy, and Sienna Miller, has proved that the brand’s ever-evolving services are coveted by everyone from everyday life to Rock and Roll.
Dedicated to people, passion, and purpose, the business is now moving into the next generation with Hari’s children, Lucan and Tassie Salem, responsible for leading and nurturing a new wave of talented creatives. Investing in people and placing learning at the heart of the business has shaped a legacy in which mentorship, drive, and inspiration have led to longevity of service, loyal staff and future growth.
50 years is an important milestone, but what excites me is that it doesn’t feel like the end; there’s so much more for us to do.

Embracing Nostalgia
To mark five decades of service to more than 70,000 clients, the brand has launched a year of celebratory activations to honour its status as one of London’s most revered hair salon groups. Kickstarting proceedings during the week of 18 May 2026 is a Birthday Blow-dry Edit, created in partnership with Sebastian Professional, a fellow 70s-born brand.
Guy Kleinhaus, Educator and Ambassador, Sebastian Professional, has collaborated with HARI’s to create era-defining styles, including ’70s Studio Wave, ’80s Icon Curls, ’90s Supermodel Volume, ’00s Lived-in Wave, and ‘10s Modern Boho.
Each salon will feature nostalgic-era playlists and decade-inspired imagery, with all clients leaving with Sebastian Professional and OPI goody bags.
From 9-12 June, HARI’s will present Peonies in Bloom in collaboration with Burnt Fen Flowers and Kérastase. Across all salons, abundant peony installations and floristry stations, created in partnership with L’Oréal Professionnel, will celebrate the season in full bloom.
Clients will be gifted bunches of peonies alongside curated Kérastase goody bags, while the King’s Road salon will feature a wooden flower cart hosted by a florist from Burnt Fen Flowers, who will prepare the bouquets. Created as a celebration of client loyalty, Peonies in Bloom is a love letter to the clients who have grown alongside the brand as HARI’s has evolved into a five-salon group rooted in artistry, community and seasonal transformation.
On 21 July 2026, clients will be able to enjoy blow-dries for £19.76 in recognition of the launch year – a rare, limited-time indulgence at an exceptional price.
Founder Hari Salem shared: “50 years is an important milestone, but what excites me is that it doesn’t feel like the end; there’s so much more for us to do, especially as my son and daughter have taken over the business. When you put your heart into something, it just proves it can stand the test of time.”
Lucan Salem, Managing Director, added: “At HARI’s, our mission is to redefine excellence in hairdressing – combining world-class craft with warmth, creativity, and genuine care, so every client leaves feeling confident, valued and inspired. We continue to invest in people and products, ensuring the standards set by my father in 1976 remain unmatched today.”
