Hair straightening balms are back in business after a flurry of flat-ironed locks appeared on the
Autumn/Winter 2014 catwalks.
At Versace, above, super stylist Guido Palau was inspired by '60s dolly girls - a Bardot-esque bump was added at the crown, but otherwise hair was sleek , straight and swingy. It's this final bit that's key - today's straight hair doesn't hang like a lank pair of curtains; it's healthy, thick and luxurious and packed with movement.
Guido went straight at
Bottega Veneta and
Marc Jacobs too, where inspiration came from 90s minimalism and otherworldly perfection respectively.
Elsewhere, James Pecis at
Whistles made sleek lengths an alternative grown-up evening look, Sam McKnight at
Anya Hindmarch created modern Stepford Wives with a slick hairline and Darren Fowler at
Bernard Chandran created futuristic layered ponytails - with straight lengths key to every look.
