Hair magazine celebrates annual awards

Hair magazine celebrated the industry's favourite consumer names with their annual awards, hosted this year by Caroline Flack and Andrew Barton.
Held at the stunning Sky Bar at Altitude in Pimlico, London, over 300 guests were treated to panoramic views of the city by night at the pre-awards Champagne reception.
Following an introduction from Linda Fox, publisher of Hair and Blackhair, it was time to congratulate the Super 60 winners - the must-have hairdressing products, as voted for by a panel of 100 readers of the magazine. With awards for everything from daily shampoo to dryers and tongs. As well as a respected title, winning brands will receive promotional material to boost retail sales and show off their achievements in the salon.
Next is was on to the main awards, which celebrated industry talent in categories including best extensionist, afro stylist, session stylist and salon chain. A VIP panel of 22 award-winning hairdressers, editors and product manufacturers judged this section, using their years of expertise to pick the worthy winners.
The main prize of the night was the Hair Hero, awarded to Mark Leeson of Mark Leeson Hair, Body & Mind in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. Accepting his trophy for outstanding achievement, a triumphant Mark said: "Hairdressing is the most incredible career and if you have a natural ability and aren't afraid of hard work, it will prove to be something you will love. You'll struggle to find a hairdresser who does not love what they do - that's because it's such a wonderful profession."
With the awards over, it was time for the party to begin. Soundtracked with a DJ set from TOWIE star, Lauren Pope, hairdressers and guests rubbed shoulders with celebs including Jessica-Jane Clement, Gabriella Ellis, unda Onal and Agne Motiejunaite.
