I'm a firm believer that avant garde work should be a work of art. Gone are the days of wild and weird; fantasy hair nowadays not only has a story but captivates the viewer with its skill and beauty. This image helped Efi Davies from Toni & Guy win HJ's Avant Garde Hairdresser of the Year - and its obvious why. The perfect cornrow cartwheel is stunning and impressive - anyone who has attempted cornrows will know how difficult it is. The final look is fragile but elegant, skeletal but stunning.
