The Hair and Beauty Charity has announced an all-new, star-studded virtual cookbook today featuring some of the biggest names in the industry to help raise funds for the charity created to help professionals in need.
Contributors include hairdressers Adam Reed, Akin Konizi, Andrew Barton, Ashleigh Hodges, Charlotte Mensah, Clayde Baumann, Cos Sakkas, Errol Douglas MBE, Gianni Scumaci, Harriet Stokes, Jack Howard, Jackie Ambrose, Jonathan Andrew, Josh Wood, Ken Picton, Lisa Farrell, Mark Hayes, Mark Woolley, Michael Douglas, Michael Young, Neil Moodie, Nicola Smyth, Richard Darby, Richard Ward, Sally Brooks, Sam McKnight, Suzi McGill and Tracy Hayes. Also featured are barbers Alan Beak, Joe Mills, Justin Carr and Leah Hayden Cassidy.
Recipes included range from Lobster Chilli Linguine to Slow Cooked Wagyu Beef Brisket Wrap, Quick Homemade Pizza to White Chocolate and Raspberry Blondies, covering a range of starters, mains, desserts and snacks.
“This e-cookbook was born from an idea during the third lockdown. Renowned hairdresser Errol Douglas MBE posted an old image of a cookbook we created over 10 years ago and it got me thinking how much fun it would be to do it again,” explains president Samantha Grocutt. “You won’t find any sourdough or banana breads that the first lockdown was known for, but there’s 50 recipes from easy to difficult to recreate.”
Established in 1836, Hair and Beauty Charity has been helping hair and beauty professionals who have been affected by illness, disability, bereavement, homelessness, domestic violence or financial hardship. During the past year, the charity saw an increase of over 227% requests for financial support due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The cookbook was inspired by a continued need to raise money and awareness for the charity.
“Our charity has been a lifeline for many in our profession over the years but 2020 and 2021 has thrown us into the spotlight as more and more people started to hear about what we do and how we help,” concludes Grocutt.
“Who knows how long the effects of these three lockdowns will have on our industry, so we need to keep pushing the charity awareness and this e-cookbook is a great way to bring a bit of lightness to what has been a really hard time for many.”
You can purchase the hair charity virtual cookbook for a donation of your choosing, ranging from £9.99 to £50.
