Grateful Head Toronto contrasts textured walls and stripped black floorboards against black baroque wallpaper, luxe fittings in leopard-print and glossy antique finds for a look which instantly says grown-up rock ‘n roll.
Embossed skull-print wallpaper at the backwash, high-gloss black subway-style tiles and modern chandeliers add to the mood, while still ensuring the overall theme is more sophisticated than stage set.
Although black makes a statement in much of the salon, it's not the only colour in use. Stripped plaster walls add a lighter touch, while the bathroom is a jewel of a room, decked out in fuchsia.
Salon owner Lysa Fina dreamt up the interior herself, with assistance from professional set-designer friend,
Nancy Niksic.
