While Harper's Bazaar were celebrating their Women of the Year in London, in New York Glamour magazine was holding a similar event marking female achievement in the arts.
Emma Stone allowed her chartreuse Lanvin gown to take centre stage, wearing her bright red locks up in a high ponytail packed with body and shine.

Jennifer Lopez was also on the red carpet and opted for a softly waving style, worn back off her face to allow that floral embellishment to dazzle on its own.
These shiny loose waves are softer than we're used to seeing on JLo and the new look definitely works for her.

Jessica Alba was also sporting a soft-but-glamorous look, with her lengths softly curled and worn pinned back away from her face.
This is a really cute look on Jessica, which works perfectly with her super-girly peter pan collared blouse.

In keeping with the theme of soft, understated glamour, Kerry Washington wore her hair curly and loosely pinned up for a romantic updo which also showed off her fabulous earrings and chiselled cheekbones.

Lea Michele went for all-out glamour with her tumbling waves, but the softly brushed-out shape and side-parting ensure this look is more romantic than all-out retro glamour.
