Volume always helps stars to stand out on the red carpet, and at last night's 2012 Glamour Women of the Year awards, voluminous hair took a variety of forms - from beehives to bouffant bobs. Here are the stars that worked the bigger-is-better trend.
Fearne Cottone
"Fearne, Fearne Fearne... No, no, no! This whole looks makes her look jaded before her time and she missing her usual quirky factor. If you're donning a dress like that, keep hair sleek and shiny and make a statement with your makeup."
Darren Ambrose, D&J Ambrose, Pinner

Lily Allen
"I'm not denying that I like Lily's subtle beehive, but she just doesn't look styled to be at the Woman of the Year Awards. She looks like she's dressed more for the Red Lion Pub than the Red Carpet."
Craig Chapman, Craig Chapman Hair Design, Cornwall

Paloma Faith
"Well if anyone else on this red carpet was lacking a statement piece in their ensemble, Paloma's certainly made up for it with her hair. I love this look on her; she's such a fierce character and the blonde fringe brings out the intense copper tones even more."
