If you've got lots of clients heading to festivals this season, why not host a festi-ready hair session? Keep the salon open a couple of hours late, open up some bottles and demo a few easy to copy hairstyles - like this colourful festival fishtail braid, as demonstrated by Great Lengths.

You will need a paddle brush, a light finishing spray (we recommend I.C.O.N. Done), a band or ribbon to tie the plait.

1. Before. Abi’s hair was prepared with 25 40cm Great Lengths bonds in four different shades: 10 x lilac, 5 x silver, 5 x indigo, 5 x turquoise

2. Brush hair thoroughly. Take a section of hair from the centre-crown – split this into two.

3. Take hold of these two panels of hair, one in each hand. Take a small piece of hair from the edge of one panel and cross over to join the other panel.

4. Repeat this process two of three times, then start integrating additional hair from the sides, making your two main plait panels thicker.

5. Continue with this process, ensuring that you are pulling an even amount of hair from the sides.

6. When you reach the nape, all the hair should be integrated into the plait. Continue with the plaiting process down the length of the hair.

7. Secure the plait with a pony band or piece of ribbon. Use your fingers to tease the plait for a softer finish. Spritz with I.C.O.N. Done to hold in place.
