Rainbow Room International George Square won Salon Team of the Year at
HJ's 2014 British Hairdressing Business Awards. The judges called them 'full of team spirit and energy' - but what did winning do for business? We find out.
Why did you enter the British Hairdressing Business Awards?
The British Hairdressing Business Awards is one of the industry’s most respected awards ceremonies. To be a part of it is fantastic. Entering the awards, especially the Salon Team of the Year category, really pulls the team together and prove their dedication to being part of the team. It’s a benchmarking tool to measure your performance against your competitors and it’s something that we now factor into our business plans.
What is the value of entering the British Hairdressing Business Awards?
It’s absolutely invaluable. It’s a great PR tool because local press always want to hear about businesses that are performing well and winning awards, so it really helps to raise your profile on a local and national level. It’s such a powerful brand to be associated with and you really can’t put a value on that association.
What has your win done for the business?
As I mentioned, it’s helped to raise our profile on a local and national level. It’s definitely a draw to bring new clients into the salon; they want to know that they’re going to the best in the business. It’s also a great motivation for our staff as they want to keep up their place as being among the best in the industry.
