Professional hair brand, Fudge, set up a pop-up salon space backstage at the Mercury Prize awards at the Roundhouse in Camden, London.

One of the most respected events in the music industry calendar, previous winners of the Mercury Prize include Adele and Amy Winehouse.

For the 2012 event, Fudge set up four private styling stations backstage in the artists' lounge with grooming stylist Dale Ted Watkins on hand to style male stars and session stylist Natalia available to prep female artists as well as their entourages and management teams.

The team worked backstage over the course of two days covering soundchecks and interviews as well as the awards, reception and dinner.

Fudge creative director, John Vial, said: "It was a great event to be involved in and the Fudge team were inundated with requests. With word spreading fast of the hair mastery and magic of the talented team we even had to start taking appointments to avoid disappointment."

Artists who stopped by to get their hair styled included Django Django, Richard Hawley and Mercury Prize Award winners Alt-J (above).
