Kylie Mingoue has never been afraid of a statement 'do - who could forget that Neighbours bubble perm, or game-changing indie Kylie red hair? As the perennial pop princess celebrates her birthday, we take a look back at some of her best hair moments.

The perm that inspired a generation. Kylie as Charlene in
Neighbours influenced girls (and full-grown women) across the land to transform their hair. Call me crazy, but if you pulled those sides back and kept them sleek, you've got a nice, modern curly quiff going on here.

When Kylie went indie, her hair went with her. This bright red shade was an instant winner for Kylie, particularly when paired with that super-cool shoulder-length cut and sweeping fringe. Please go red again soon, Ms Minogue!

Recovering from chemotherapy, Kylie showcased her shorter hair as it grew back. The natural wave and colour through this cropped style bring to mind the timeless elegance of
Jean Seberg.

Kylie's cornrows were a cool match to the sporty, barely-there costumes of the 2002 Fever tour. Not only do these scalp braids still feel fresh today, but we love the addition of metallic ribbon in complementary shades to her outfit woven through.

The Kylie we know and love today is impossibly glam, but still with a cool twist. We love the vintage feel of this blow-dry, with volume at the crown and soft waves through the lengths. Who wouldn't want to rock this hair on the red carpet?
