Fellowship colour night 2019 presents the latest colour trends

Eight talented colourists took to the stage at Toni & Guy Academy in London for the latest Fellowship for British Hairdressing Colour Night. The eight colourists showcased the very latest in trending techniques. The night, hosted by Mark Creed and Ken Picton, Fellowship president, celebrated colourists and their techniques. They were joined by Carolyn Newman, which was also interviewed by Ken. Carolyn was on stage for the first ever Fellowship colour night in 2001. As a former member of the FA.M.E. Team, she was the evening’s special guest. Carolyn described her time with the Fellowship as a “turning point of her career.” “You have to have a vision,” she explained. “And always be true to yourself. It’s down to you and no-one else to make your career what you want; be confident and love what you do.”

On Stage

Charley Henley presented a creative detailing technique from ‘Legacy’, the latest Toni & Guy collection. He created a strong contrast between shadows and strength and illumination and light. The look was highly bold. On the other hand, Charles Worthington gave a sneak peek to his upcoming collection with Jayde Collins’ model. With a shrinking steel grey with yellow detail, she explained her desire to explore contrasting colours. Jack Howard, balayage professional, presented his 14 piece technique before Karoliina Saunders took the stage where she combined warm and cool shades of sparkling rose and peach for an on-trend update on pastels. She also introduced the audience to her paper alternative to foils, for an eco-friendly update. Contrastingly, Daniel Couch from Russell Eaton created a hairstyle with a 1990s palette and a grunge feel. The dirty pastel green and vintage denim grey colours were finished with chevron placement combined with freehand painting. Gareth Williams from Headmasters worked with a mix of balayage techniques and dusty pastel tones in rose quartz, lavender and yellow to create colour with an impact. Similarly, Tina Mehmi from Rush Hair worked with an individual blend of pastels in apricot, coral and yellow for a soft, summer-toned look and showcased the brand’s ‘Obsession’ collection.
