The Fellowship for British Hairdressing Awards are open for entries with a new category for 2021 and the Fellowship Awards are open for entries until 3 September 2021.
What is the Fellowship Awards New Category for 2021?
The new Afro Image Award is open to any hairdresser who produces beautiful textured hair. The image should be a professional photo shot in a studio setting, and due to disruption this year, can be from your portfolio from any time.
Chancellor Ashleigh Hodges is excited about the new category for 2021. She said:
Our industry is incredibly diverse and we wanted to recognise all hairdressers, all skills and talent, so introducing our Afro Image Award was a natural step to take in 2021. There are some incredibly talented hairdressers who specialise in textured hair and are looking forward to seeing all the images entered on social media.
What other Fellowship Awards 2021 categories can you enter?
The Afro Image Award joins the other categories in the Fellowship Awards – Snapshot Award, Men’s Image Award and Colour Image Award and all of the entries are open until 3 September. How to enter each Fellowship Awards 2021 category?
Snapshot image
The Snapshot Image is now in its fourth year and is for any non-professional hair image – photos of salon work, show looks or any other creation produced outside of a photo studio. In light of the lockdowns and lack of opportunity to get creative in 2020, the Snapshot Image is open to any work from entrants' back catalogues – as long as it's not from a professional photoshoot, it can be entered. To enter this category upload an image to Instagram, tag @fellowshiphair and use the hashtag #fellowshipsnapshot21.Men's Image
The Men’s Image is a celebration of all things barbering and men’s hairdressing. It should be a professional image shot in a studio setting – due to 2020 restrictions, Men’s Image Award is open to any work from the entrants back catalogue. To enter this category upload three images to Instagram and tag @fellowshiphair on Instagram and use the hashtag #fellowshipmens21.
Colour Image
The Colour Image invites entrants to be as bright and bold or natural and beautiful as they want to be. It should be a professional image shot in a studio setting – due to 2020 restrictions, Colour Image Award is open to any work from the entrants back catalogue. Upload three images to Instagram, tag @fellowshiphair on Instagram and use the hashtag #fellowshipcolour21.
Afro Image
The Afro Image is for those who specialise and create beautiful textured hair. It should be a professional image shot in a studio setting – due to 2020 restrictions, Afro Image is open to any work from the entrants back catalogue. Simply upload three images to Instagram, tag @fellowshiphair on Instagram and use the hashtag #fellowshipafro21.
The finalists and winners will be announced at the annual Fellowship Awards in December.
