Kim Rance is artistic consultant at Clipso Watford and a former member of both the FAME Team and TIGI's Inspirational Youth Team.A superstar session stylist in the making, Kim has worked at London Fashion Week for the last few season and here she shares her secrets for getting involved with the exciting world of catwalk styling.
What is the key item/product in your kit you couldn't survive without?
L'Oreal Professional Tecni Art Super Dust - it's the best product if you're in a rush and don't have time to add mousse to your blow-dry, it creates fantastic volume and texture.
What trends are you predicting for A/W 2012?
My prediction is that animal print will be taken to a new level. We've seen a big change this season and I think we will for the next.
What was your favourite show last season?
Henry Holland was the best show I worked on last season. Adam Reed was the head stylist and he's incredible to work with. The clothes were cool and wearable too, which I loved. Meadham Kirchhoff was my favourite show to study, it was full of childhood fantasies and I also loved the setting for the show.
What's your favourite trend for S/S 2012??
My favourite S/S12 trend is the 'under the sea' theme. I've always dreamt of being a mermaid since Ariel from The Little Mermaid and Daryl Hannah in Splash! I think it's a refreshing change from the obvious florals for summer.
Three top tips for getting involved with session work?
- Ask everybody! Find out who's doing what, don't be afraid to ask and get involved. They can only say no but if they say yes, it will open doors.
- Sign up to a hair agency; they will be able to book you to assist the top session stylists.
- Big hair brands sponsor most shows at fashion week, so speak to your sales rep to see what they're doing and who they're working with.

It changes every season but a certain source tells me Mulberry have some of the best after parties that everyone wants an invite to!
