Fashion week familiarisation - the fash-pack

New York Fashion Week is just days away, and for the celebrities that hang out on the front row this can mean only one thing: paparazzi preparation. With just under 48 hours until the first show, there's still time to get on a cabbage soup diet, get a little Botox and pop to the salon for some maintenance on those extensions. While some celebrities will always be welcome on the front row, others are not quite so stylish, as we shall see...

Nicole Richie and Chloe Sevigny are two regular faces at fashion week. Unlike many celebs, seeing either of these two up front doesn't signal the death knoll for a brand as they're actually pretty fashionable. The stylish twosome might not be friends, but seated together at Proenza Schouler, they make a good-looking pair. Nicole's luxe brunette locks mark her transition from Paris Hilton's BFF to fashionista in her own right, while Chloe is undoubtedly the queen of laidback styling. When your outfit's worth more than a small house, who cares about roots?

When two worlds collide... Here, to the left, we see the extremely stylish Chanel muse, Leigh Lezark. The model, DJ and all-round painfully hip New York party girl is famous for her slick black bob, always worn impossibly straight with a polished sheen. On the right, it's Peaches Geldof. How old Peaches keeps getting invited to fashion week is a mystery, but here she is again. In stark contrast to Leigh's sleek look, Peaches' plum-hued extensions are so not fashion week friendly, even if the 90s are back on the catwalk.

Still... at least Peaches doesn't look as bad as these two! Lindsay Lohan and Taylor Momsen might be very different shades of blonde, but they're equally questionable. This picture of Taylor is pre-ridiculous extensions, but she still looks a little straggly. Lindsay, on the other hand, has got it all going on. Long, straggly, yellow... and that's before we get on to the tan - what happened around the hairline??
