Putting the idea of the perfectly primped princess and girl group glamour firmly in the past, the new season style icons rock neon colour, extreme texture and edgy cuts which ensure they stand out in a crowd.
Inspiring their fans and influencing trends from the catwalk to the high street, these musical madams are 2011's next big thing.

Jessie J
"Jessie's look is so hot right now!" says Joel Palmer, Charlotte Murray, Muswell Hill. "She has an incredibly striking image which sets her apart as an artist and a style icon. She has a real edge with her bluntly cut lob and chunky fringe, which works for her. Her ebony locks accentuate the pale and interesting look that she pulls off so well."
Yasmin

"Something is slightly out of balance with Yasmin's look here," says Kristina Jones, Peter Prosser, Herefordshire. "It could be either the bun is too top heavy, or the fringe is too long. She would look a lot better following Audrey Hepburn's example with a shorter fringe which would accentuate her eyes and brows. As she has such dainty feline features, a slicker, tighter bun would be more flattering."

Eliza Doolittle
"Extreme length can be hard to carry off," explains Valerie Benavides, Brooks & Brooks Hairdressing, London. "But Eliza wears this Rapunzel look well. It's all about understated glamour, which works well with such long hair. That said, I would love to see her cut a few inches off the bottom and add some soft texture throughout to give more lift and movement."
Marina Diamandis
"Quirky and flamboyant, Marina is making a name for herself in the music world and as an alternative style icon," say Gary Hooker and Michael Young, Hooker & Young Salons. "Her hair is packed with wefts to add depth, texture and colour. The pink, purple and brown tones with the full head colour work well and the panels of colour certainly make a statement. But the condition of the hair slightly spoils to overall look."
