Golden Age Glamour
Long hair guru Patrick Cameron recreates the golden age of Hollywood glamour with this elegant chignon.
"Create a large central rectangular section from temple to temple back to the occipital area. Then hot roller this central section.
"Once cool remove the rollers and section with a section clip and then take side areas and back areas into low pony tail. "Back comb a low pony tail, and create a large ball, which will become the base. "Step by step drape each of the sections over the ball in 's' shapes and up the back of the head. Secure with a clip for extra prestige."

Bruno Marc created soft and beautiful curls in stunning shades of red for this highly commercial image. "Rustic red and copper tones were added to create an impressive and impactful finished style. "Hair was washed in a specialist curl shampoo and rough blow-dried until almost completely dry. "Large Velcro rollers were added to wide sections of hair and sprayed with curl spray. "Once the hair was dry the Velcro rollers were removed and fingers were run through the sections. "To add tighter curls tongs were used on individual strands to frame the face. Hair was finished with a flexible hold hairspray." Bruno Marc from Marc Antoni, Berkshire |
Cream of the Crop
Contrasting colours add interest to this short crop by the artistic team from Keith Hall Hairdressing. "Hair was cut into a basic short graduation at the nape and side areas. "The crown was point-cut to create texture and then all sections moving towards the fringe were over-directed back to the crown section to create length at the front. "A feather blade was used through the fringe to create separation and texture. The colour was achieved by lightening the hair throughout and a platinum toner applied for the clean, crisp blonde colour. "Next, a half moon section was taken on the top, starting and finishing either side of the crown. Sections were weaved out and a darker colour was applied to create contrast through the front." | Here Comes the Bride
Sex siren Bridget Bardot inspired this smoldering bridal look by Royston Blythe. "To create this sexy Bridget Bardot-style bride a few extensions were added for instant body and volume. "Tousled curls were created by tonging small sections of hair, and holding the depressor down for a few seconds to set the curl. "The tongs were removed and the curl left to cool before dressing out using the fingers. "This was repeated randomly. The crown section was pinned up at the centre back and secured with grips, leaving the rest of the curls to fall onto the shoulders. "Hair was finished with a soft hold hairspray." Tracey Devine created these beautiful soft blonde curls as part of her winning Scottish Hairdresser of the Year collection. "Hair was washed and blow-dried smooth to give a clean shine, then set in small rollers using a brick technique from crown to forehead and back to front at the sides. "Hair was sprayed with a light setting spray, dried and the rollers removed. Curls were brushed through and a light shine spray applied."
Tracey Devine from Angels Hair, Aberdeen | Champagne Style
A champagne blonde creation became a champagne moment for British Hairdresser of the Year Akin Konizi. "As I was working with text
ure, I chose a blonde palette of colour to accentuate the movement throughout the hair. "Working with semi-permanent lightening products, a soft champagne blonde was created. "Hair was cut using the square graduation technique through the back and sides. "To style, I applied setting lotion throughout and then created finger waves from the crown section forwards. A hood dryer was used to set the style and left until fully dry. Hair was then dressed into position and hairspray applied for hold." Akin Konizi, international artistic director, hob salons |
