The current Fellowship for British Hairdressing's FAME team spend the day with former member Skyler McDonald, who demonstrated an array of avant-garde styles and techniques.
Skyler, from seanhanna Putney, explained how she has developed her signature style and talked about her career to date, which included winning HJ's 2010 London Hairdresser of the Year.
She also wowed the young team - Rose Binns from Ethos, Melissa Timperley from Sassoon, Jamie Benny from Rush Hair and Zoe Williams from Ken Picton - with her latest technique of changing hair colour by adding heat.
Sean Hanna also gave them an insight into what it takes to run a successful business, and how business and creativity work together. Melissa said about the day: "We learnt not only technical skills of avant garde work, but also the practicalities of running a business. The day was packed full of information and it was great to see how different techniques can spark an idea, which then develops into an image. Skyler's creative energy has certainly rubbed off on us and we are feeling every inspired!"
