Fake wahl super tapers in the uk market Wahl Super TaperWahl (UK) Ltd is sending out a warning to professional barbers and hairdressers, as replicas of the best-selling Super Taper are being sold into the UK market. Clippers which are not genuine Wahl products are not Wahl quality. Those who haven’t purchased a Wahl Super Taper through a trusted professional supplier may be at risk, and there are ways to establish if your Super Taper is a fake.
  • The genuine Super Taper’s UK packaging is printed in English language only.
  • Screws on the genuine Super Taper lay flatter than on the fake Super Taper.
  • The genuine Super Taper has a round three-pin Wahl branded plug, whereas the fake has a square plug.
  • The hanging loop on the genuine Super Taper has reinforced shoulders which make it stronger.
  • The rating label is more prominent on the genuine Super Taper, with a clear date code, which is embossed on the fake edition.
  • The fake edition also has a faint square on the blade lid, whereas the genuine Super Taper blade lid is smooth.
Simon Shaw, Wahl (UK) European artistic director said: “We want to ensure that customers do not mistake these replicas for the genuine Super Taper as the quality of Wahl is not held by fake editions. Customers need to acknowledge the difference”. If you think you have a fake Super Taper we recommend you to return it to the supplier or to contact your local Trading Standards.
