Celebrity hairdresser Errol Douglas has recived an MBE for services to hairdressing in the New Year's Honours List.

Errol, whose Knightsbridge salon celebrates its 10th birthday this year, has been nominated for British Hairdresser of the Year eleven times, been entered into the Hall of Fame after winning Afro Hairdresser of the Year and won numerous other accolades in his glittering career. Speaking about the honour, Errol said: “It’s an amazing honour to be awarded the MBE, but I've received it for my industry, not for me personally. "It gives inspiration to young hairdressers who want to get into the profession, and it furthers what I’m doing in my industry to raise its profile as a fantastic profession to work in. "For me, it’s all about education, passing on what I know to the people I train, and helping young people to achieve their hairdressing career dreams.”
