Industry icon and twice-winner of HJ's British Hairdresser of the Year award, Beverly C has been awarded an MBE in the Queen's New Year's Honours list, published this weekend.

Speaking from her home in South London, a delighted Beverly said: "I was gobsmacked when I heard. I got the news by phone even before I saw the letter and when the caller said they were from 10 Downing Street I was sure it was a wind-up! "I really didn't think anything could match my pride at winning British, but this is amazing. To receive recognition on this scale from outside the industry feels very special and couldn't have come at a better time. "All the trauma and upset within my personal life is history now, I'm loving my job and meeting all those personal and professional goals in my own right is so rewarding.
