Emotional visit to sos village in latvia

Hairdressers are renowned for their generosity and when it comes to offering their time for free to train others and pass on their skills there is no other industry that comes close. Schwarzkopf Professional has linked up with SOS Villages for their initiative Shaping Futures, where hairdressers can visit one of the villages and teach underprivileged youngsters basic skills in hairdressing. These young people can then go on to earn their own money, fend for themselves and make create a better life for themselves.
Children in the SOS Villages are from various backgrounds - some have been abandoned, others from violent families surrounded by drugs and alcohol.These villages are an alternative to orphanages and seeing how happy and positive these children are is heart warming but emotional.
My visit to the village in Latvia has certainly opened my eyes and I would urge any hairdresser to look a this film and get involved in Shaping Ftures. By simply passing on your hairdressing skills you really are changing their life.
