Hot on the heels of London Fashion Week, the ELLE Style Awards 2015 saw the capital's coolest crowned for their style credentials. Here, we take a look at the best-tressed guests on the red carpet and got Hooker & Young's Jonathan Turner verdict on some of our favourite looks.
Alexa Chung
We say: Alexa's switched her tousled bed-head texture for something more sleek. This side parted dual-texture style makes for an elegant upgrade and is a perfect match for her high-collar, heavily-embroidered frock.
They say: "Alexa Chung could climb out of bed and still manage to look cool. Here she is proving less is more. I'm loving the side parting, which creates a soft focal point to her style."
Cara Delevingne
We say: Cara dialled up the glamour with this glossy head of curls which shows off her luxe brunette shade.
Undercut, what undercut?
They say: "This is super sexy hair from Cara! The polished finish and deep waves scream glamour and I love it! Perfect style for any age."
Diane Kruger
We say: We still love Diane's strawberry-blonde shade and this uber-pretty, super-soft feminine look really brings the colour to life.
They say: "Diane's deconstructed dishevelled look is more relaxed but still very glamorous. A perfect example of taking hair from day to night. The colour is a beautiful rose-gold which adds warmth to her tone."
Jourdan Dunn
We say: Jourdan's gone even shorter with this blunt bob. Worn with a strict centre parting, the simple styling showcases her ombre colour perfectly.
They say: "This is one of my favourite styles around at the minute. Beyonce rocked it and so does Jourdan! Worn sleek with a centre parting or messy this never fails to look cool."
Lady Mary Charteris
We say: This L'Oreal Professionnel face looked fantastic with a triple-braid look. We love the contrasting size and styles of her plaits; perfect with her outfit too.
They say: "Braids are everywhere at the minute and this is a great example of how to approach this trend with a softer more feminine feel. They are the perfect accessory to her outfit."
Lily Donaldson
We say: We're loving seeing Lily back on the red carpet and catwalks. Her creamy blonde shade is the perfect
au natural shade and worn with simple waves makes for a cool, laidback look.
They say: "Lily’s style is very natural and undone looking. It works fantastically with her natural make up and the clean blonde tones and beautiful."
Pixie Geldof
We say: Did Pixie and BFF Cara share a stylist? We love that both of them opted for such a glossy, gorgeous, groomed style for the night. These 1940s-style waves look great with her darker hair colour too.
They say: "Combining 1940's with a grunge look is perfect for Pixie. It's stylish, edgy and very cool. A showcase of her unique taste."
Taylor Swift
We say: Side-parted, sleek and serious sultry - what happened to Taylor's sweet-and-innocent style? The slick texture around the hairline and contrasting dry lengths are seriously fashion and not too easy to pull off. We love this style upgrade.
They say: "Taylor is beautiful and can carry off any style well. I think this could be the best I have seen her look in a long time. She looks more high fashion with a harder edge rather than girl next door. This would have also looked great with heavier product through the top gelled back still with dry lengths for texture."
Mollie King
We say: Saturdays star Mollie King also opted for wet-look locks with a slightly 80s feel thanks to the volume and product-heavy finish. A risk that paid off? We're unconvinced!
They say: "I’m afraid this is not the best I have seen Mollie look. The dress is unflattering and I am not convinced by the hair. I can see what she was attempting but is hasn’t quite worked and it’s a shame because Mollie is naturally gorgeous."
And the rest...
