The prestigious Auditorium Teatro Manzoni, set in the heart of the historic city centre of Bologna, Italy, played host to the hotly-anticipated 2016 Davines Hair on Stage Show. This inspiring venue saw more than 800 hairdressers, industry names and members of the trade press gather together for a night of creativity at its finest from its affiliated guest artists and emerging hairdressing talent and supporting salons. The event opened on Sunday 2 October with a welcome address by Lamberto Bisognin, Director of Davines Haircare Italy, who touched the audience with his powerful speech about the importance of the Sustainable Beauty Manifesto – the historical source of Davines' sustainability identity that continues to inspire company projects aimed at promoting beauty in harmony with humanity and the environment. The Internationally acclaimed Allilon Education Art Team, led by its directors Johnny Othona and Pedro Inchenko, was the first to perform, presenting their new Change collection and its surprising palette of colours. Davines inaugurated a new exclusive partnership with Jesus Oliver, as he debuted his first time on stage. Creativity and an innate taste are the ingredients of his Stylosophy method, based on the rigour of the Anglo-Saxon approach, which has been simplified for salons. Allilon then gave the stage to the emerging talents of the World Style Contest – a global, annual competition that offers hairdressers the ability to express their creativity and talent through photography and on-stage performance. The six Italian finalists challenged each other’s passion and talent on stage to win a place on the next WWHT. The technical jury, made up of selected hairstylists, journalists and fashion experts, closely followed the looks as they were created, proclaiming the following winners: Alessandra Pucci won a double award for Best Stylist & Best Cut; Andrea Gennaro won Best Colour, as well as the Social Award, voted directly on Facebook by salon clients and the Davines community. Closing the first day of the event was Davines Artistic Director, Angelo Seminara, During his hour on stage – part show, part educational talk – he moved and enriched the audience with his extensive experience, sharing his passion and his philosophy. Presented on stage was an eclectic mix of cuts, colours and cutting-edge styling. After a show to remember, guests enjoyed drinks and food at the Palazzo Re Enzo, where everyone enjoyed a great time in Davines style, followed by a ‘Good Vibes’ themed party. The performance of Gianluca Sasso, founder and Artistic Director of F and creator of the Fusion Cutting Methodology, warmed up the stage during the second day. Next up was Sergio Laurenzi, stylist and creative talent, who presented his collection, a personal tribute to the women who became, on the stage, true style icons. Last up on stage and bringing the two intense days to a close was Angelo Seminara.  Davines’ Artistic Director presented the brand’s latest collection Rebel. Taking inspiration from urban 80s graphics – an integral part of the urban landscape – Rebel is simple, yet sophisticated, assertive and sometimes biting. Leaving the stage to the applause of the audience was the customary closing runway show.
