Could you be named salon stylist of the year? Could You Be Named Salon Stylist of the Year Joy McQuillan won Salon Stylist of the Year at HJ's 2014 British Hairdressing Business Awards. The judges called her 'a true example of what a successful stylist should be' - but what did winning do for business? We find out. Why did you enter the British Hairdressing Business Awards? The British Hairdressing Business Awards are one of the hairdressing industry’s biggest accolades and it’s a great achievement to finalise, not to mention win. For me the British Hairdressing Business Awards is about being recognised by your peers and fellow hairdressers for being the best in the business. Winning the award last year developed my confidence, so this year I really didn’t feel like I had anything to lose. What is the value of entering the British Hairdressing Business Awards? Entering the British Hairdressing Business Awards is priceless. It has really helped to boost my profile locally and within the industry, so I’d recommend to anyone thinking of entering to go for it. How did it feel to win Salon Stylist of the Year? It was a great achievement, especially as this is the second year running that I’ve been lucky enough to win the award. I’m so proud to be recognised amongst some of the best in the business for my work on and off the salon floor. It’s a huge achievement. What has your win done for the business? Winning the award for Salon Stylist of the Year has been great for my business. My clients love to hear about the awards that I enter and the hard work that goes into the process. I think the clients are just as proud as I am. I definitely think winning awards can pull clients into the salon. The judges said...
