Could you be named hj’s rising star?

Calling all hairdressing students! We're on the search for HJ’s Rising Star - a talented new name in hair with a flair for the live competition arena. Previously called HJ's Student Creative Team, the competition this year turns its focus to talented hairdressing students working towards their NVQ Level 1 or 2 or equivalent. To enter, all you need to do is upload a photo of your model with a look inspired by a celebrity of your choice. It can be a modern red-carpet look, a reinterpretation of a classic icon's style, or even hair influenced by one of your favourite films. Neither your model or photographer have to be professional - as long as the picture is clear and we can see the hair, that's all that matters. If you make it as a finalist, you'll need to recreate your look live in the competition area at Salon International on Monday 12 October. Feeling inspired? HJ's Rising Star: What You Need to Know

- The competition is open to students who are unqualified, studying to NVQ Level 1 or 2 or equivalent. You can be based in either a salon or college. - To enter, just upload a photo of a model look inspired by a celebrity of your choice. You'll also have to give us a few words about why you chose the celeb you did. - You don't need to use a professional model or photographer, as long as the shot is clear. - If you make it as a finalist, you'll need to recreate the look in 45 minutes at Salon International on Monday 12 October. - The deadline is at 5pm on Wednesday 1 September 2015. - Read the full Ts and Cs here!
