ClubStar is the youth section of The Fellowship for British Hairdressing. It was created to give hairdressers between the ages of 16 and 25 creative inspiration and a platform.

Who runs Clubstar and which leading hairdressers are involved?

Simon Shaw runs Clubstar along with secretary Emma Bushell, while Jamie Stevens mentors the artistic team. TONI&GUY, Mahogany and Lisa Shepherd are among the many industry leaders who have provided training for Clubstar members. in 2011 TIGI, ghd and Wahl will all be hosting Clubstar events.

What are its objectives?

To provide a place where young minds and creative talent can meet, share ideas and develop. To offer events, competitions and opportunities to be stimulated, educated and inspired. To pursue greater standards and champion NVQ/SVQ Level 2 achievement and  NVQ/SVQ Level 3 uptake.

What are the benefits of membership?

Members will be invited to events and opportunities, receive discounts and freebies from the industry, enjoy peer group support from other members and at the end of ClubStar membership, they will waive the joining fee, should you decide to apply for membership of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing.  

Who should consider joining?

Any hair professionals aged 16 to 25 years should consider joining. If you want to learn, network, and be at the forefront of hairdressing then Clubstar is for you! It already has in the region of 150 members and more are joining all the time.

What special events does Clubstar run over the course of the year?

Clubstar create opportunities for members to compete against each other, they run a competition at Salon International which involves the participants creating a total look. Clubstar also provide a series of events to inspire and educate their members, including some fantastic seminars and shows with some of the biggest names in the industry. In 2010 they created the ClubStar art team which made its debut at the Fellowship Members Night.

What is the cost of membership?

ClubStar membership is £49.  There is no joining fee and the membership is annual.

What/if any events do you offer to non-members?

Non-members can attend events at a cost of £15 per event. Some workshops have limited places and priority is given to members. Art team places and any competitions are for members only though.
