HJ's Afro Hairdresser of the Year 2013, Charlotte Mensah has styled singer Janelle Monae for Pepsi Max's new global football commercial, Now Is What You Make It.
Charlotte was invited to style Janelle as she debuts her cover of David Bowie's classic, Heroes, in collaboration with Pepsi. The advert, which also features footballing stars including Leo Messi, David Luz and Robin Van Persie, will be seen around the globe in the run up to the World Cup.
Charlotte said: "It was a great feeling when I received an email from Janelle Monae's management requesting that I style her hair for the official Pepsi advert. Janelle is a dream to work with she is the ultimate professional and it's an experience I'll never forget."
To get the look, follow Charlotte's simple steps:
1. Spray hair with MIZANI D'Tangle Moisturizing Leave-in Milk and blow-dry loosely to stretch out some of the curls.
2. Apply MIZANI Supreme Oil and take big sections from the hairline to the crown. Backcomb to build volume and height.
3. Secure with kirby grips.
4. Brush sides back into a low ponytail and twist hair up, pinning in place with grips.
5. Finish by lightly misting MIZANI In-Control Workable Holding Spritz to tame and smooth any flyaways.
