Chanel front row - the hollywood girls
The front row of a Chanel show is the place to be seen. Any celebrity lucky enough to get their hands on an invite is instantly elevated to new fashion heights, with a world of dresses, jewels and shoes at their disposal. The lineup at this week's couture show featured a stylish selection of Hollywood stars, all vying for their moment in the spotlight. Gossip Girls Blake Lively and Leighton Meester are currently filming in Paris, and proving that fashion is more than just an on-screen passion, took front row seats at Chanel.
Blake's trademark mane of beachy blonde locks lent a relaxed air to the proceedings. Full of texture and with a definite whiff of sea salt spray, this summery look is great for Blake - but worn with a low cut, virtually see-through frock, is it appropriate for a seriously chic Chanel show? We wonder what Karl Lagerfeld made of her style!
As Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl, Leighton Meester epitomises preppy. Never without a headband or matching handbag, her style is unabashedly girly, but always sophisticated. Leighton's real-life look is not quite so buttoned-up, but she still looked positively regal in a brocade-trimmed dress and understated half up style.
Following her appearance at Dior earlier in the week, Jessica Alba also wowed at Chanel. After (almost) tricking us into thinking she'd gone for the chop, Jessica opted for a softly undone low bun. No sign of a hair crisis this time!
Completing the star-studded guest list was Japanese actress Rinko Kikuchi. Dressed in head-to-toe Chanel - as per usual - the diminutive star added extra inches with a volumised updo. The textured quiff contrasted against smooth sides for an elegantly edgy look that gave a cool twist to her ladylike tweed suit.
