Following the example set by Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, this summer's celebrity brides stuck to traditional, romantic looks inspired by the old-school glamour of days gone by.
For rock chicks Kate Moss and Lily Allen, inspiration came from the 1920s with capped veils for both brides lending a hint of vintage style to their tousled waves.
Summer's other Royal weddings, for Zara Phillips and Charlene, Princess of Monaco, had a more traditional feel with 1950s-inspired updos and lashings of diamonds.
Here's what the experts have to say about our favourite summer brides...

Lily Allen
"Lily's wedding hair definitely played second fiddle to her outfit, which was the focus of her big day. The soft, gently tonged waves worn loose at the back were feminine and simple, allowing her elaborate 1920's long, lacy veil to take centre stage. However, staying true to her signature look, the full fringe was visible, but swept to the side for a more ladylike feel."

Kate Moss
"Kate is renowned for her striking looks and on-trend fashion choices but for her nuptials she opted for a more modest approach. Kate's hair was kept simple, working with a centre parting and tousled waves. The casual, contemporary style complemented the material and style of her designer dress; suiting her rock-chic wedding perfectly."

Zara Phillips
"Zara's wedding hair is elegant and timeless, which is key for a royal wedding. The simple side parting softens her strong features and the low chignon perfectly complements her wedding dress. To recreate this look, I would suggest blow-drying hair the evening before so it's not too soft, then setting the hair in rollers the following day for added body. Once the rollers are removed, simply tie hair back into a low ponytail and develop the chignon from that base."

Charlene, Princess of Monaco
"For her big day, Charlene, Princess of Monaco was the image of a future queen exuding a delicate elegance. Her wedding hair was a crowning glory; sophisticated and traditional yet extremely beautiful with luminous colour. The princess looks absolutely radiant."
Catherine O'Donoghue, Enzorosario, Godalming, Surrey
