As the Queen celebrates 60 years on the throne, we look back at the changing celebrity hairstyles which have influenced hairdressing trends, clients and photographic collections since her reign began. Here we look at the stars setting trends today.
Today there's very little that celebrities won't do, with stars like Lady Gaga and Rihanna rightly asserting themselves as the queens of reinvention. Colour is nothing to be scared of, with neon brights, new techniques and constant changes only limited by your imagination.
Thanks to improved quality in wigs and extensions - not to mention professional colour - it's never been easier to change your style, as these stars demonstrate. There's a fearless feel to fashion too - no more basing your look around what might be popular and mainstream attractiveness, rather a celebration of individuality.
Ross Taylor, Manager of Paul Falltrick Hairdressing, Romford says: "Some years set the trends for the future and 2010 is a prime example. We saw the introduction of stronger, more experimental colour that really pushed the boundaries while cuts remained quite simple."
"For the two years since, trends have drawn on 2010 inspiration simply taking on a softer form and this will continue until a dramatic change in looks comes about that sparks the next cycle, which is what happened in Twenty-Ten."
Jessie J
"Jessie's popularity soared in 2010 and so did her style! So confident and bold with her hair, this simple cut teamed with the fashion-forward purple hue was spot on for her persona with a really edgy feel."
Katy Perry
"Another lady that loves to experiment, Katy too opted for a trendy colour and quite simple style. The pretty violet paired with soft curls is the perfect way to do on-trend while maintaining the girl next-door image Ms.Perry is known for."

Lady Gaga
"I LOVE the Gaga and this high side pony is one of the softest looks I've seen her sport. Easy to wear and still really on-trend, it was one style everyone could sport following the dynamic star's lead."
Rihanna
"Rihanna is idolised for her style and it's not hard to see why. One of many amazing trends, the dark roots and blonde fading into a sandy shade through the ends teamed with soft styling worked incredibly well with her strong features and is still popular now."
