Celebrity mums and daughters' hairstyles
Acting talent runs in the veins of certain Hollywood dynasties; but do they keep their style in the family too?
We asked some top hairdressers to take a look at a quartet of mother/daughter duos and give us the lowdown of who hasn't learned from mum's mistakes and who's being outshone by their offspring.
Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson
"Goldie's fringe is her best friend, she's had one for as long as I can remember - it's better than botox for hiding wrinkles! She epitomises a bubbly blonde and doesn't suit being red or any other colour. The length is a bit long for her age, but she can get away with it. Kate is like her mother - her hair length is versatile and gives a soft, feminine look. The colour is perfect for her."

Dina and Lindsay Lohan
"They both look great. Lindsay's long, graduated style worn from the centre looks youthful and elegant. The soft blow-dry with gentle movement looks effortlessly glam. I prefer her with this combination of blondes and biscuit tones - it works well with her skin tone and eye colour. Dina looks great too. Mum and daughter going for the same look can be a bit twee and can draw unfavourable comparisons, but the long, layered cut with sweeping fringe works well for Dina. The colour doesn't work quite so well. With her darker eye colour and skin tone it would suit her more if some of the darker undertones were worked throughout the top."
Gary Ingham, Gary Ingham, London
Blythe Danner and Gwyneth Paltrow
"The loose curls nicely define Blythe's face, the cut is sharp and adds lots of body to the curls. The shape really enhances her cheekbones which gives her a more youthful and vibrant look. Mother and daughter have similar cool blonde tones, which look natural and suit their skin tone and light blue eyes. Gwyneth's hair is elegant with structured curls creating a loosely pinned updo, perfect for those who want to put bounce in naturally fine hair. It complements her classic bone structure and is also a great look for a bride. They both look fantastic - more like sisters than mother and daughter!"
Sean Fordham, Fordham Soho, London
Demi Moore and Rumer Willis
"It looks like Demi's fringe is growing out, and it's nice to see her with an off-centre parting, it works really well on her. Rumer's hair is naturally curly, but she does vary her hairstyles and likes to experiment. This style suits her face shape and the gorgeous dark colour brings out her blue eyes beautifully."
