Festival season got off to a fashionable season this weekend with the tenth annual Coachella Festival. Located in the desert just two hours outside Los Angeles, the festival is notorious for attracting a star-studded, extremely well dressed crowd.

Celebrities including Rihanna, Katy Perry and Dita von Teese all descended on the desert for what is arguably the most fashionable festival on the planet.

Ex-BFF Nichole Richie and Paris Hilton were both spotted rocking suitably boho styles in the VIP section, with Nicole opting for long loose tousled waves topped with super-sized sunglasses and a patterned kimono.

Paris stuck to her socialite style, with immaculately tonged waves crowned with a diamond-studded headband and plenty of lipgloss.

Staying safe in the sun, both Vanessa Hudgens and Kelly Osbourne opted for on-trend floppy hats to keep themselves protected.

Vanessa matched her 70s-style hat with long loose waves and lighter-hued lengths, while Kelly's tresses looked impossibly shiny and healthy under her straw hat.

Stylish best friends Katy Perry and Rihanna were both spotted at the event too, and both stars used accessories to dress up their festival hair - and hide in the crowd.

Katy stuck to her trademark pretty pin-up girl look, brightening up her barnet with a polka dot bow wrapped around loose tonged curls.

Rihanna - who is back to long red curls again - added a grey trilby hat to her look, protecting her curls and colour from the sun's rays.

Adding a bohemian feel to the proceedings, both reality star Whitney Port and model Alessandra Ambrosio rocked little white dresses with quirky cool accessories.

I love Whitney's wrapped top knots - it's so unlike her usual style and perfect for a fun, festival look. Alessandra let her supermodel good looks speak for themselves, dressing down with loosely pinned-back dip-dyed lengths and a colourful scarf.
