Cannes 2012: diane kruger's top knot and mermaid tresses

Diane Kruger can always be relied on for breathtaking red carpet style, and at the Cannes 2012 Film Festival so far, she's showcased fabulous hair too.

For the opening ceremony, the festival judge paired her beautiful blue Giambattista Valli gown with a simple knotted updo. The bun isn't too basic though - combining a wrapped base with a fanned-out, slightly shell-shaped finish. The perfect simple but effective match for her incredible dress.

Later on, Diane opted for very on-trend mermaid-esque hair, with long flowing waves and an organic-looking rolled shape on top.
