Sarah Jessica Parker split opinion last week when she copied Cheryl Cole's bouffant barnet, but just like the X Factor judge, she was back to her best this weekend in Cannes.

In an intricate Elie Saab gown, SJP wore her hair up and away from her face in a flattering asymmetrical style.

The loosely pinned updo has a bit of a 40s feel to the moulded shape, but the unpolished finish and textured flyaways keep the look thoroughly modern.
