Missed out on the British Hairdressing Awards? Here's a brief summary of how the biggest night in the hairdressing calendar panned out.
It was at...
At the Grosvenor House Hotel London. The evening began with finalists' drinks, a
Schwarzkopf champagne reception and a general drinks reception in the ballroom.
Guests included...
The creme de la creme of British hairdressing. Guests also came from as far afield as Russia and Croatia.
We wore...
Hairdressers don't have a reputation for being some of the most stylish, creative individualistic people for no reason, and those qualities were on full display. Everything went - from full-length and fabulous to high-fashion club wear
We ate...
To start there was pear and radiccio tart, followed by wild, field and forest mushroom soup, then rump of lamb with herbal crust served with daupinoise potatoes, honey roasted carrots and mange tout; but it all paled into insignificance when compared to the melt-in-your-mouth sticky toffee pudding.
Vegetarian guests tucked into a fennel lasagne followed by fresh fruit salad.
We were entertained by...
Host Graham Norton was his usual upbeat quirky self. He entertained guests with his enthusiasm and witty one-liners, and joked that there were two surprises of the evening: that his hairdresser wasn't nominated for any of the awards and that he hadn't slept with any of the winners!
Heather Small also wowed guests with a live performance of her hits, including Moving on Up and One Night in Heaven.
The talking points
Angelo Seminara winning the
British Hairdresser of the Year Award - it was the second time he had been nominated; a delighted
Errol Douglas celebrating winning the Afro Hairdresser of the Year, 11 years after he first won it.
We danced to...
The latest dance tracks and classic hits and we partied long and hard into the night.
A fantastic night was had by all. Bring on next year...
