It's not news that British brides spend big bucks on wedding beauty, but guess where professional hair services came out in the list of most essentials treatments?

Good news – out of all professional beauty treatments ahead of wedding days, hair is considered the most essential. Haircuts came in first place with 72% of brides getting this done professionally, followed by hair colouring at 54%, and then washes & blow drys at 51%. Nearly 90% of brides spent up to £300 on hair and makeup on their wedding day, and spent £100-£300 on hair and make-up for their bridal party.

With peak wedding season in the UK falling between May and October, Beauty Daily by Clarins conducted the survey to find out how brides spent on beauty treatments for their wedding day. In the survey of 2,000 British brides, out of those that responded ‘yes’ to having considered at-home beauty pampering and treatments in the run-up to their wedding day – only 21% actually decided to give their hair the TLC it needed at home, seeking instead the expertise of a professional.
